	Getting Started Creating an Account

Solution The first step to getting an account on any site is knowing what you're getting into. Therefore, it is important that you read a site's Terms of Service (ToS). Each of our sites has a ToS that lays out all the rules, requirements and expectations that members will have to adhere to.

Once you are sure you wish to create a new account, go to the site's homepage. Each of our sites has a slightly different "look" so the instructions below will be generic to all sites.

1. Locate the word "Register" near the login area of the site, and click on it.
2. Fill in the information requested on the next screen. This information can include:
-- Penname - this is a required field; the name that will appear on your account that others can see (example: Harryfan123)
-- Real Name - this is optional and you should ONLY give your first name. It is never a good idea to give your full real name on the web!
-- Email - this is a required field; you will need to provide a VALID email address: our system will send you an email that you will have to return in order for your account to become valid.
-- Website - this is an optional area where you can put your own website to allow others to visit. Be aware, we do NOT allow website links to ANY sites that contain personal or identifying information. Not all our sites have this option currently enabled.
-- Bio - this is an optional area where you can give small tidbits about you for other members; please remember, no personal information (this includes full name, age, school, ect)!

Once you click on the "submit" button (or its equivalent), your account is now registered. There is, however, one more step you must take.

Email Validation ---------------
Once you have filled in the required fields and submitted, our system will send a 'validation email' to your email account. You must open the email and click on the link provided. That will send a signal to our system that you are, indeed, a "real person" (and not a spam program), and your account will be available for you.

Be aware, this validation email may take anywhere from 10 minutes to 24 hours to reach you. Be sure to check your email accounts "junkbox" to make sure our automated email was not put there.

Logging In ----------------
Once you have received and clicked on the link in your email validation.... congratulations! You can now log into your new account!
